The Brisbane Media Map (BMM) provides information and links to some
500 media and related organisations serving Brisbane, Australia,
as well as supplementary information and analysis on various issues
and trends in media including diversity, localism and innovation.
The BMM is a valuable resource for anyone seeking
information about the Brisbane mediascape.
The BMM is produced and updated annually
by Media and Communication students
enrolled
in KCB303 Applied Media Communication in the Creative Industries
Faculty, Queensland University of Technology.
In 2002, I was a tutor in KCB348 and responsible
for
project management, look
and feel, PHP / MySQL programming and
development
of the frontend website. From 2003 onwards, I have been responsible for the development of the backend, database
management system, design and functionality of the
site.
The media map system has been ported and installed at University of Technology, Sydney; La Trobe University, Melbourne, and Malmö University, Sweden.
